Christian Serazzi
Christian Serazzi earned his Diploma with distinction in 1987 from the Istituto Superiori di Studi Musicali Gaetano Donizetti in Bergamo where he studied with Mauro Catalano. In 1988 and 1989 he attended specialization courses in viola and quartet music with Piero Farulli at the Scuola di Musica in Fiesole. He has engaged in intensive chamber music activity, first with the Quartetto Harmos and subsequently with the Quintetto Stradivari, the Quintetto Jupiter, the Giovane Quartetto Italiano, and the Quartetto Donizetti (which he founded). He has collaborated with various chamber music groups such as the Carme, the Ensemble Garbarino, the Mantua Chamber Orchestra, and I Cameristi Lombardi as well as with operatic and symphonic organizations including the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, I Pomeriggi Musicali, and the Teatro Regio diParma. Since 1991 he has been a member of the Orchestra del Festival Pianistico Internazionale di Brescia e Bergamo with which he has performed in concerts and tours in France, England, Luxemburg, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Rumania, ex-Yugoslavia, America, Japan, and Korea with soloists Rostropovich, Argherich, Zilberstein, Bunin, and Vengerov.
He currently teaches viola at the Liceo Musicale di Varese and the Istituto Superiori di Studi Musicale Gaetano Donizetti in Bergamo.
